About Us

Hi there! We are Eric and Mollie, the couple behind Trails for Two. We live in Columbia, Missouri where we both lead busy lives (like you!). Despite our never-ending list of to-dos, we are passionate about making time to get outside and enjoy nature in its most pristine form. By taking the time to adventure, we gain a better understanding of the world around us and what is important. This motivates us to come back to the office or the classroom on Monday morning to influence our communities to do the same.

More about Mollie…

As a chemical engineering student at the University of Missouri – Columbia, I don’t always feel like I have time to drive three hours away for a camping trip. However, I’ve found that making the time for these excursions helps me spend my study time more effectively and reduces my stress levels. I’ve been an avid hiker my whole life, growing up with parents who took us on family vacations to National Parks regularly; however, I just went backpacking for the first time a year ago. On a tight budget as a student, I don’t have extensive backpacking or camping gear, but this doesn’t deter me from gaining the most from my outdoor experiences.

As an active environmentalist, I currently work in Missouri’s capital as an energy policy analyst pushing for ways to improve society’s energy outlook. Outside of work, I enjoy guitar, mushroom foraging, thinking of ways to help our climate, and finding a new spot in the woods to stare at a bug, a leaf, a stick, or simply be thankful for what’s around me and let it serve as motivation to continue working for a brighter climate future. My family often makes fun of me for devoting too much time and attention to seemingly insignificant things, like when I stop and stare at a bug, a leaf, or a stick. The beauty of life is in the little details!
